Underground Contrast by Nightline Underground Contrast by Nightline
I was fascinated by the orange ceiling in conjunction with the cold tones of the rest of the station. Hope you like it, too! :)

EDIT: Removed disturbing elements. Like people. :D

What an incredibly complex picture! First off, the orangey-red is very striking compared to the rest of the station as you mentioned in your description. But you look closer and there's the reflections of the escalators and the stairs either side of them which makes you realise the almost complete symmetry of the photo. Then you think wow, how many lines are there Actually in this photograph?! The linear qualities are immense; there are so many horizontal, vertical and then converging ones up the side, it's an absolute feast. I am surprised, I wasn't expecting quite such an absorbing image when I clicked on the thumbnail.

I had forgotten this piece...and when
at first glance in the thumbnail today...
I saw this and thought it is the inside of the KEWLEST dish washing machine that THE WORLD HAS EVER KNOWN!!...

then I saw the people..
and I thought..THIS IS THE SMALLEST AND CLEANEST RACE OF PEOPLE IN THE WORLD!!..

then I realised...
I was wrong

I think it is a great contrast of cold and warm colors. I think the best is the reflections on both sides...the reflections are numerous and add alot of depth and structure.

I saw both the deviation and the original you uploaded, and you get double praise: for taking that pic in the first place, and for making it look so shiny! I love that effect, I'm going to have to try someday... (and fail, probably, then run to a friend for help). Unfortunately our subway is not shiny at all, it's just dark and dirty :( I loved the Vienna subway, it was the means of transportation I used the most while I was there, and it was so good compared to ours... you have padded seats and none of them were ripped off or dirty! :o

Well, thank you so much for your words and the fav!
Don't fear failure, take the chance to get a picture of your local metro. Even if it doesn't look attractive, who cares? You get experience, and that's important! :)
It would be very interesting for me to see your result when you took your photo!

Lol, now everybody asks me what this mysterious sign said. :D It was just a sign with the name of the street where the exit leads to, so nothing special. ;)

Awesome looking photo. I love the symmetry and the colors.
I also kind of like the way the people disrupt the symmetry.

Since I guess I missed it, what did the disturbing sign say?

Thanks! :)

The sign was located above the escalators and disturbed the scene a bit. It was just a sign with the name of the exit street. You can still see some parts of it in the left reflection. :D
